This is a kind of dish that can increase my appetite only by looking at it ! I put it in my menu list, our family favorite dish. Easy, heavenly delicious and cheap ! :) Take a look at the recipe and have a nice try.
It's funny, I usually eat it with rice which contains carbohydrate, while corn is carbohydrate as well. Just watched ads from TV about carbo-diet, let's forget it for while okay ! Because it's simply savory.
Tumis jagung - cumi asin / Sweet corn with salted squid stir fry
Ingredients :
- 5 sweet corn on the cob, remove sweet corn kernels from the cob
- 250 gr dried and salted squid, soaked in hot water for a while then remove from water, chopped
- 4 red onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 3 fresh chilies, chopped
- 2 stalks of green onion, chopped
- 1 cm of laos / galangal, mashed
- 2 salam leaves / laurellike leaves
- salt and sugar to taste
- petai
- 2 tablespoon of vegetable oil
- 150 cc water
How to :
1. Heat the oil in a wok over medium heat. Add in red onion, garlic and chilies until fragrant. Add galangal, petai and salam leaves. Stir well.
2. Add dried and salted squid, stir together to mix.
3. Add sweet corn, mix well for 1 minute.
4. Pour the water to the wok, add salt and sugar (not too much !). Stir for a while, wait until the corn wilted.
5. Stir once more and taste. Add green onion. Stir well.
6. Serve immediately.

Bahan-bahan :
- 5 bonggol jagung manis, pipil bijinya dengan menggunakan pisau
- 250 gr cumi asin kering, rendam dengan air panas sebentar, buang airnya, lalu iris-iris.
- 4 siung bawang merah, iris-iris
- 2 siung bawang putih, iris-iris
- 3 buah cabe merah keriting, iris-iris
- 2 batang daun bawang, iris-iris
- 1 cm laos, memarkan
- 2 lembar daun salam
- garam dan gula pasir sebagai perasa
- petai (kalau doyan, buat aroma juga mantap kok !)
- 2 sdm minyak goreng
- 400 cc air
Cara :
1. Panaskan minyak goreng lalu tumis bawang merah, bawang putih dan cabe sampai harum. Tambahkan laos, pete dan daun salam.
2. Masukkan cumi asin, aduk rata.
3. Masukkan jagung yang sudah dipipil, aduk-aduk rata.
4. Tuangkan air, tambahkan garam dan gula pasir. Aduk rata. Biarkan hingga air sisa sedikit dan jagung matang.
5. Koreksi rasanya, lalu taburi irisan daun bawang. Aduk lagi.
6. Siap dihidangkan.
