Remake : Chocolate and matcha steamed cupcakes

Looking back at my previous post 2 years ago, where I have posted a steamed cupcake recipe. Old-fashioned steamed cupcake I remember from my childhood. Mom used to buy me cat face-shaped steamed cakes every time we go to the hospital for a monthly check-up. The cake was too cute to eat and I didn't even want to share the cake to my younger sister and brother. I was a selfish sister back then. :D

I grew up in the time when cakes were not so many options and the cake shop was not too fancy. Nowadays, we feel very overwhelmed because there are various type of delicious cakes. Chocolate cake with butter cream or ganache on top, different flavors of cheesecake, cupcakes with cute swirls in so many colours, you name it ! Suddenly I feel blessed =))

I made these cupcakes several times and they perfectly paired with afternoon tea and they have never failed me. The combination of chocolate and green tea flavors is absolutely a great combo !!! The taste is also nice, not overly sweet, soft, moist and spongy. Create the marble effect on the cake is an easy thing to do. There is no right or wrong. You can use a toothpick to swirl the batter.

This recipe is one of the most viewed on my blog, that's why I decided to make it again and took proper pictures of it. Hope you all like it !!

    1. Hi :)
I'm not really sure if 75 gr of thick coconut milk converted to ml. I bought 200ml of thick coconut milk and I only used half of it. But once again, I'm not sure. If you want to wait until tomorrow, I'll check it out for you and keep you inform right away.

  5. I have tried making it. The cake is very dense with me measuring 75gr of coconut cream. Very strong coconut taste.
